This interactive seminar provides you with essential tools and techniques for improving communication with individuals or groups in the workplace—whether supervisors, colleagues, subordinates, or customers.

Through hands-on exercises and both verbal and nonverbal communication skills practice, you’ll leave ready to:

•       Assess your own communication style
•       Identify key words to use or avoid in various situations
•       Utilize 12 essential tactics for effective nonverbal communication
•       Express yourself assertively
•       Sharpen your listening skills
•       Become more conscious of the combined effect of the words and nonverbal signals that we receive and broadcast every day

 

About the Presenter

Yael Schy combines 20 years of management experience with her background in improvisational theater and dance to create dynamic interpersonal skills training, coaching and consulting in the workplace. She is Principal of Dramatic Strides Consulting, assisting organizations with leadership development, communication skills, team building, strategic planning and creative decision-making techniques that help people move forward together. Yael serves as a faculty member at the American Management Association and at CompassPoint Nonprofit Services, and is a Certified Somatic Coach. Yael is co-author of the book Teamwork Tools: A Revolutionary Approach for Managers and Trainers.

 

 

Cancellations received less than seven calendar days from the program date are not refundable. If cancellation within seven days of the program is unavoidable, a credit for a future event will be granted, minus a $75 administration fee ($15 for regional meetings). Credits must be used within one year of issue. A substitute attendee is allowed at the applicable NCHRA member/non-member rate in lieu of credit. Separate cancellation policies apply for the HR West Conference and Certification Preparation Courses.
