Summary

As human resource managers, you deal with conflict every day — from personality conflicts between colleagues to disputes about performance, discipline, promotions, benefits and awards. Your ability to smoothly mediate and resolve workplace conflict proves vital to your success and plays a large part in how your peers perceive you. Through presentation and demonstration, and by using newly acquired skills during a simple workplace conflict roleplay, you will gain techniques to:

• Confidently identify when mediation is needed
• Clarify underlying interests of involved parties
• Generate solution-oriented options
• Create a climate for effective mediation that results in an agreeable resolution
