August 20:  7 Principles of an Effective Performance Evaluation Process
Performance evaluation seems like an onerous task for many managers. Lack of time, concern about morale or legal issues, and complicated organizational systems are often cited as reasons to avoid evaluating performance (or limiting it to once per year). Learn the seven principles of an effective performance evaluation process, including:

• Setting goals and performance expectations
• Ongoing and periodic performance review tools - feedback, status review, and check up review
• Writing an evaluation, conducting an annual review, and structuring the review meeting

About the Presenters

Daniel Guillory is a recognized expert on creativity & innovation, leadership and collaboration. Many different corporations and non-profits including Toyota Financial Services, Ronald McDonald House Foundation, Merck & Co, and Anheuser-Busch have turned to Daniel for his guidance on how to strategically approach these areas, and for assistance in implementing tactical solutions in learning and development. Prior to working with Innovations, Mr. Guillory was an attorney with Pillsbury Madison & Sutro LLP and remains a member of the California Bar. He received his J.D. from Harvard Law School and his B.A. in international relations from Stanford University. In addition, Mr. Guillory studied international law at the Université de Paris I - Panthéon Sorbonne. He is fluent in French and conversant in German and Spanish. 

Lisa McCormack is Executive Vice President, HR Services with the Melita Group.  She has over extensive experience in the high technology arena, working with large and small companies undergoing rapid growth and change. The Melita Group is a Human Resources Professional Services organization, providing employee benefits and HR consulting to employer groups of all sizes.

Jonna Schaff is a Staff HR Consultant with the Melita Group. She has over twenty years of HR experience working with Silicon Valley companies as a generalist, business partner and HR Leader.

Christine Silver is a trainer, coach, and management consultant with more than 15 years of experience in Human Resources. Areas of expertise include leadership development, effective communication, team development, interview and candidate selection, and conflict resolution. Her experience as a one-on-one coach has helped managers in their performance management efforts. Christine has a bachelor's degree in Child Development from San Jose State University, a certificate in Human Resource Management from University of California, Santa Cruz and has been trained by The Coaches Training Institute - www.thecoaches.com.  Her firm, Silver Business Solutions, is a partner to The Practical Solutions Group founded by Marty Brounstein in 1991.

Pierre Khawand has more than twenty years of experience in the software industry. He has led several technology ventures, completed successful mergers and acquisitions, and founded People-OnTheGo in 2001. His Accomplishing More Leadership Program helps today’s leaders develop the awareness and behaviors needed to focus on results and develop people in the midst of the information overload. His best selling Accomplishing More With Less workshop is enabling today’s business professionals make breakthroughs in their work and personal lives. Pierre holds a Master’s degree in Engineering from the University of Michigan, and has completed several Executive Education programs at the Stanford Graduate School of Management.

 

Cancellations received less than seven calendar days from the program date are not refundable. If cancellation within seven days of the program is unavoidable, a credit for a future event will be granted, minus a $75 administration fee ($15 for regional meetings). Credits must be used within one year of issue. A substitute attendee is allowed at the applicable NCHRA member/non-member rate in lieu of credit. Separate cancellation policies apply for the HR West Conference and Certification Preparation Courses.
