Summary

Are you responsible for supervising, implementing or administering pre-employment screening background checks for your organization? How do you make certain your organization does not hire anyone that is dangerously unfit, unqualified or dishonest?

Negligent hiring is one of the fastest growing areas of employment litigation. Learn legally complaint best practices to keep your business productive and out of court, including:
• Conducting past employment checks
• Obtaining and utilizing criminal records
• Verifying education using social networking sites
• Selecting and evaluating a screening firm

Additionally, we’ll discuss federal and state laws that control the background check process, such as the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and unique (only in California) rules. Plus, the impact of the new national accreditation standards for background firms.

Just one bad hire can result in a legal and financial nightmare. Take steps to implement a legally compliant program and to hire the best employees.
