Designing an employee engagement survey is both an art and a science. Unfortunately, one size does not fit all; there’s no such thing as the perfect question set or benchmark. Learn how to design and implement engagement surveys customized to your unique organizational needs and culture, including question selection and design and surveying frequency. Plus learn how to avoid the most common survey pitfalls before, during and after a survey launches. This is an interactive session, please bring your existing question set or come with a blank slate.

Successful gamification goes beyond implementing badges, leaderboards and points, and enables organizations to build collaborative communities worldwide. As the Vice President of Customer Success at Achievers, Vanessa is focused on helping clients develop and cultivate successful reward and recognition programs that ultimately align with, and contribute to the attainment of strategic business objectives. Vanessa has over 10 years of experience working for high-growth technology companies. Steven Huang, Data & Insights, Culture Amp, and former People Analyst at Square and Facebook
Steven left his career as an actuary to join a new wave of HR professionals in the “people analytics” industry. He was the first HR analyst at Facebook in 2011 and then Square in 2014. He now leads Data & Insights for North America at Culture Amp. His career ambition is larger than just engagement; he wants to fundamentally change the way we work by bringing data solutions to Human Resources. In his spare time, he plays tennis and attends music festivals.

Joe Larocque, Co-Founder and Director of Product Management, GuideSpark
Joe Larocque has over 7 years of eLearning experience from leading companies including Macromedia, Adobe and GuideSpark. During his 5 years at GuideSpark, Joe has led HR communications & training projects for some of the world’s most admired employers and has overseen the development of more than 1,000 HR videos. Prior to GuideSpark, Joe was a Product Manager at Adobe Systems, where he drove the OEM strategy for Adobe’s Web conferencing, collaboration and eLearning application called Acrobat Connect. Joe had also held strategic roles at JPMorgan and Robertson Stephens where he focused on enterprise software companies.

Jessica Rohman, Director of Content, Great Place to Work
As Director of Content, Jessica develops Great Place to Work content with a focus on actions leaders and managers can take to build great workplaces. In her 10+ years with the Institute, Jessica has served as a consultant, facilitator, FORTUNE list evaluator, and program director, bringing a depth of understanding of Great Place to Work concepts to her work. She has also been featured as an expert on great workplaces for media outlets such as The Miami Herald, Diversity Woman Magazine, Oprah.com, and Time.

Steve Sims is a well known gamification expert and is currently the Chief Design and Products Officer of Badgeville   (a CallidusCloud company). Steve and his team have delivered 100's of Digital Motivation/Gamification solutions for areas ranging from employee engagement, support communities and performance management systems to loyalty programs and health care systems.

Steve has 20 years of experience in game and product development  for web, mobile, console and PC systems. He started his gaming career at Electronics Arts and EA Online where he was an Executive Producer and responsible for Madden NFL Football, the #1 selling sports video game franchise in North America, as well as EA's earliest forays into the online space including Fantasy Sports and Casual Games. He has worked in the gaming industry since with notable roles including Director of Operations at Gemini Mobile Technologies where his team launched the first 3D virtual world on iPhone as well as Vice President of Product Management and Service Operations at Outspark, where he launched and managed their portfolio of Free 2 Play Games.

 Cancellations received less than seven calendar days from the program date are not refundable. If cancellation within seven days of the program is unavoidable, a credit for a future event will be granted, minus a $75 administration fee ($15 for regional meetings and Webinars). Credits must be used within one year of issue. A substitute attendee is allowed at the applicable NCHRA member/non-member rate in lieu of credit. Separate cancellation policies apply for the HR West Conference and Certification Preparation Courses.
