The Northern California Human Resources Association (NCHRA) is actively searching
for three new Governing Board members to begin a 3-year term in January 2017.

An active search is underway for three NCHRA Governing Board members to begin a 3-year term in January 2017. The Nomination Committee is inviting professionals to refer potential candidates (including self-referral) who are qualified and interested in this leadership opportunity.

The deadline to submit nominations is September 30, 2016.

Go West!
Home to the world’s largest technology companies, the San Francisco Bay Area is the most innovative place on earth. Practicing HR here requires skills beyond the ordinary, and a level of sophistication not found in other parts of the world. Since the call to “go west!” began hundreds of years ago, the journey has always resulted in innovation and leadership. With a role on our Governing Board, you’ll have the opportunity to help guide our association to new frontiers and ever-increasing relevance as we set a course for the second half of our first century.

Qualifications and experience sought include: a track record of organizational leadership, strategic vision, innovative and creative thinking, and excellent decision-making skills. With a goal of building an optimally effective Governing Board and in consideration of the talents represented by the current board members continuing their terms next year, tenured as well as those earlier in their career will be considered. Preferred characteristics for 2017 candidates include: change management, venture capital/entrepreneurship, law, finance, and Internet/eCommerce marketing. Additionally, candidates need not reside in Northern California to qualify for consideration.

HR professionals may nominate themselves or a colleague through this link.

NCHRA is one of the most vibrant and successful HR associations in the country. Serving a community of more than 20,000, NCHRA is nationally recognized for quality and breadth of service. This focus on excellence has earned us members in 34 states and several foreign countries. NCHRA has set the standard for professional development, association leadership and sound management for more than 55 years. The Association is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors made up of forward-thinking diverse leaders, dedicated to guiding the evolution of HR. As an actively participating team, the Governing Board is charged with collaborating with the Executive Committee in setting the strategic direction, for the organization, for the benefit of NCHRA members and the greater HR community.

How to Nominate
If you know someone (including yourself) who meets these qualifications and is interested in serving, please nominate yourself or a candidate here no later than September 30, 2016.

Non-NCHRA members and professionals outside the HR profession are welcome to apply.

Next Steps
NCHRA and its Board of Directors appreciate any and all interest and assistance with this process. Within the next few weeks, the Nomination Committee will begin to review submissions and contact the candidates who best meet the needs of the organization for interviews.
