SUMMARY

Recent studies show that 67.4% of employees are disengaged in their work, which has a massive impact on bottom line results and revenues ($370 billion annually is lost due to actively disengaged employees). In today’s competitive marketplace, it's imperative that leaders understand how to build intrinsic motivation to increase engagement. In this interactive session, you'll learn how to enhance your communication skills to build greater trust and collaboration from the inside out, which helps create dynamic, high-performing teams.

Creating this kind of engagement is obviously important to bottom line revenues of an organization, but more importantly, it's crucial for creating greater employee satisfaction, well-being and productivity. A happy, healthy employee creates a positive ripple effect throughout your organization and extends to your customers.

Recent studies show that:

  • 78% of employees cited that recognition is the main motivating factor in their career.

  • 69% of employees say they would work harder if they were better recognized.

  • 52% are not satisfied with the level of recognition they receive.

  • 49% of employees say they would leave their current job for a company that clearly recognized employees for their efforts

  • 39% of workers do not feel appreciated at work

Achieving this level of engagement requires that leaders know how to communicate effectively with their team to build trust. Knowing how to bring out the best in your team is more than giving them a raise or a few "atta-boys," it’s something much deeper than that which enables employees to feel good about the work they’re doing, that it’s meaningful and aligns with their personal goals and values. Learning how to connect with and inspire your employees from the inside out is as much as an art as it is a skill. This engaging presentation will give you 4 keys to expanding your communication skills as a leader that will enhance employee engagement and job satisfaction.

Michele has been coaching and training executives for 16 years and what she consistently found is that as human beings, we all want to be of contribution in a good way to society through our work. When we lack that feeling of meaningful contribution, our motivation and engagement goes down as we grind through the week, just to get to the weekend.

This program offers tangible practices that any leader can immediately put to good use, enabling them to connect with their employees in a more effective way, by reflecting back to them the contribution they are making as part of the team. We’ll get an opportunity to “try on” these different communication techniques to start building the muscle of this deeper level of communicating and engaging with employees. You will walk away with notes, ideas and proven exercises they can utilize with their employees to have them feel seen, heard and respected for their contributions.

After participating, you will:
1) Listen beyond the excuses and fear for what matters -- sharpen your listening skills for a deeper understanding and positive impact.

2) Learn to respond vs. react -- learn how to ask powerful questions to reduce fire fighting and                    complaining to improve team productivity and critical thinking skills.

3) See the leader in everyone for greater empowerment of your team – learn how to help each person fully realize their talents and expertise for greater job satisfaction and engagement.
