In a world where the responsibility for saving for retirement has been squarely placed on the shoulders of the employee, it is critical that HR professionals can articulate the "WHY" of saving for retirement. This session will give you insight into how you can clearly communicate the need to save, even to the most challenging of employees.
America is facing a well-documented and monumental “retirement readiness” challenge that can only be overcome by changing the way America thinks about saving for retirement. In 2013, the presenter, Stig Nybo, wrote a book called "Transform Tomorrow," that clearly articulates the pending retirement crisis and begins to formulate a path forward. One of the most compelling statistics is that half of Americans have less than $10,000 saved... including in their 401(k) plans!
Throughout the presentation, you will hear stories to illustrate key points and use captivating examples from history. Join us for a sobering, yet enjoyable session that will change the way you think about planning for retirement.
After participating, you will improve your:
1) Awareness of the pending retirement crisis.
2) Understanding of behavioral economic principles.
3) Preparedness to forge a path forward for the many under-savers in this country.
