Join us for a custom-designed evening session, featuring the nine roles that HR skills and behaviors model for HR business partners (HRBPs) as we focus on the everyday challenges of an HRBP, whether working in a small company, a medium-sized organization or as HRBP in a highly-matrixed global enterprise.
Together we will address the unique challenges that HRBPs face, including how to gain respect and credibility with clients group managers, employees and leaders, as well as how to apply facilitation, negotiation and influencing skills to real-life scenarios. We’ll look from a change management perspective, how do you introduce a topic to senior leaders that they may at first be adverse to discussing?
Presenter Linda has hired and trained many HRBPs over the past 15-20 years, which has led her to accurately pinpoint certain core skills, knowledge and abilities may be missing in many candidates for HRBPs. She’s worked with many HR leaders and business leaders to collect their views on what skill set and attributes are needed when hiring an HRBP for he complex organizations we now live in.
After joining this interactive evening session, you will be better able to:
1) Assess your current operating HRBP skillset, including both your individual strengths and areas for improvement/development through a structured self-assessment questionnaire.
2) Understand the skills and abilities required for demonstrating excellence in three core areas of focus: Develops Ideas, Advises/Influences and Promotes; including the identification of what it takes to deliver satisfactory performance in the HRBP role.
3) Understand what it means to have an “action-oriented approach” to developing the three core areas on a “deeper” more sophisticated level.
ABOUT THE PRESENTER
Linda Gunther, Principal Consultant, Pinnacle Consulting
Over the past five years, Linda has been consulting with some great companies in the Bay Area, including several in the Santa Cruz/Monterey. Linda’s offerings include coaching, HR Business Partner delivery/coaching, employee relations problem resolution, management development, strategic planning facilitation, developing HR policies, designing performance management tools/ resources that serve specific business needs and helping executive teams craft meaningful leadership competencies.
Previously, Linda held the position of Director, Human Resources Business Partners where she designed and delivered the first global management training foundational program for Atmel Corporation. Prior to this, Linda was Senior Director, Human Resources at Dionex Corporation (life science). She built, developed and implemented the global HR strategy and infrastructure.
Cancellations received less than seven calendar days from the program date are not refundable. If cancellation within seven days of the program is unavoidable, a credit for a future event will be granted, minus a $75 administration fee ($15 for regional meetings). Credits must be used within one year of issue. A substitute attendee is allowed at the applicable NCHRA member/non-member rate in lieu of credit.
