Are you frequently asked to lead teams or individuals through change? In the modern workplace, change never stops. While some may see “change management” as a solution for a specific challenge, it’s much more effective to view change as a constant force we must confidently confront every day of our lives. Developing skills and tools to use change as a constructive force is essential for anyone hoping to be an effective contributor in an ever-evolving economy.

 

In this interactive webinar, you will learn basic change management techniques, tools and skills that can be applied to your everyday professional interactions. As a participant, you are encouraged to bring examples of personal or organizational changes you’re currently facing to the session in order to practice using the techniques on your own real-life challenges.

 

Key objectives we will cover together:

  • Approaching New Ideas: “Accepting vs. Blocking” - Everyone has a choice when confronted with a new idea, to accept it and move forward or block it and try to prevent it from becoming reality. Understanding how and why we accept or block ideas is critical to coming to terms with change.

  • Working Through Uncertainty - Learn techniques to help you “think on your feet” when reacting to changing circumstances and unanticipated situations.

  • Change Planning Framework - Learn the phases of the Beckhard and Harris change model (Combat Dissatisfaction, Create a Vision, Communicate the Plan, Overcome Resistance) and practice applying them to your personal change challenge.



ABOUT THE PRESENTER

Dave Collins, Founder and CEO, Oak and Reeds

Dave is a nationally recognized trainer, facilitator, speaker and improvisor. He is the founder and CEO of Oak and Reeds, which offers practical business training to clients including Lyft, CBRE, PayPal, the Kellogg School of Management, and more. 

 

Previously, Dave was at StubHub, where he focused on building communication strategies to improve the ticket seller experience. Prior to that, Dave was a Strategic Consultant at AECOM Strategy Plus, where he developed workplace strategy, change management and virtual collaboration services for government, technology and university clients.

 

Dave is also an accomplished improvisor. Along with his teammates, he won the National Collegiate Improv Tournament, has headlined shows and festivals across the country, and coached hundreds of people in the art of improvised comedy.
