SUMMARY
Join management coach, facilitator, and HR advisor Christine Silver as she deep dives into the cycle of effective performance management and the skills managers need. She’ll cover how managers can practice ongoing performance management, regardless of the type of evaluation system the organization has in place. 

Many systems place great emphasis on the software or format for formally reviewing performance, but may not emphasize the practices needed throughout the year for that formal review to have any meaning or substance. Evaluate your practices through a self-assessment, and get a chance to practice some of these new skills.

Christine has led multiple webinars for the HR community on this topic and similar HR topics. She is invited back to continue the learning process for attendees. 

When you participate, you will learn and practice:

1)  The four stages of the ongoing cycle.

2)  The skills of setting expectations and goals.

3)  A skill related to providing support and guidance (such as conducting a one on one meeting, or delegating – we can choose the skill later)

4)  The skill of giving positive and negative feedback and problem solving.

Finally, you’ll see how it comes together in informal quarterly reviews and a formal annual review. Step up your performance management game and improve the performance at your company.
 


ABOUT THE PRESENTER

Christine Silver is a management coach, facilitator, and human resources advisor.  After about a dozen years in HR roles, Christine started a coaching and training practice and developed over 2,000 leaders over the past decade. Industries she has experience in include high tech, non-profit, higher education, banking, city government, and more.  

Christine’s clients describe her as a good listener who doesn’t let them off the hook. Her passion is communicating well in difficult situations and she lives for those moments when a leader reports back, “I had that talk and it went great!” A skilled and experienced speaker and stage performer, Christine can rock an audience of 600 people, facilitate a small group to solve problems, or connect one on one to build awareness and skills.

 


CANCELLATION POLICY

Cancellations received less than seven calendar days from the program date are not refundable. If cancellation within seven days of the program is unavoidable, a credit for a future event will be granted, minus a $75 administration fee ($15 for regional meetings). Credits must be used within one year of issue. A substitute attendee is allowed at the applicable NCHRA member/non-member rate in lieu of credit. Separate cancellation policies apply for the HR West Conference and Certification Preparation Courses.
