about the presenters

Lesley Everett is an internationally acclaimed professional speaker and expert on The Personality of the Brand, and has presented her Walking TALL Methodology in 26 countries across 5 continents to date. She is a published author of 3 books (latest being Corporate Brand Personality (Kogan Page, Feb 2016), and is an Executive Brand Coach. Her clients include several Fortune 500 companies as well as various charities & associations.

Lesley is often called upon to comment on people in the public eye on their personal brand and image.  She has appeared many times on TV in on BBC News, Sky Business, CNBC, CNN, CBS and Bloomberg.  She has also had over 200 articles published in print media around the world. 

David C. Forman is the author of Fearless HR, the President of Sage Learning Systems and former Chief Learning Officer of The Human Capital Institute.  The courses David has developed for HCI have been taken by thousands of HR professionals all over the world.  In 2002, he worked with SHRM to create materials to support the GPHR certification program.  

Prior to these experiences, David spent 25 years in the training industry, working with large global organizations to improve the knowledge, skills and performance of their people. David has written more than 40 articles on talent management, analytics, strategic human resources, learning systems, high-performance cultures and leadership. 

David Gerard, Ph.D., Managing Principal, Reflect Coaching 
Prior to starting Reflect Coaching, David served as Principal Consultant with Korn Ferry and PDI Ninth House, where he was in the top 1% of executive coaches utilized globally. Earlier, he served in several roles with Right Management, including vice president, senior consultant, and executive coach. He also established and led an entrepreneurial Silicon Valley-based talent management consulting business for almost two decades, where he provided leaders with executive coaching, assessment, and strategic counsel throughout the Valley and globally.

David taught for several years at the School of Public Health at the University of California, Berkeley. He earned his doctoral and master’s degrees in psychology from The Wright Institute at Berkeley, and he is an alumnus of Wesleyan University, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree with high honors from the College of Social Studies. He also holds a Diplôme d’Etudes Approfondies from the University of Strasbourg.


Jenn Protas, Shareholder, Hoge Fenton, helps employers navigate California’s numerous employment laws and defends employers with an eye toward successful, yet cost-effective resolution. Her practice focuses on matters related to wage and hour advice and litigation, employee leave issues, personnel management, HR investigations and trainings, and defense of wrongful termination, harassment, discrimination, and retaliation litigation. 

In addition, Jenn has substantial experience drafting employer policies, handbooks, confidentiality and nondisclosure agreements, separation agreements, and settlement agreements. Her practice also includes housing discrimination matters, and general litigation, including business disputes.


Jessica Schaeffer is the Director of Marketing at LaSalle Network, an award winning staffing, recruiting and culture firm headquartered in Chicago. Founded in 1998, LaSalle has served thousands of clients and candidates, placing job seekers in temporary, temporary-to-permanent and permanent positions. LaSalle Network has grown every year since inception, landing them on the Inc. list of Fastest Growing Private Companies in America.

She oversees a team who are responsible for all PR, advertising, marketing and internal and external communications for the company.


Steven D. Siner, Shareholder, Hoge Fenton, is a member of the Corporate, Real Estate, and Estates and Trusts groups and has served as Hoge Fenton’s Managing Shareholder. For over 35 years, he has represented companies and individuals in myriad business, real estate, and wealth management matters. His typical clients are high net worth individuals, business owners looking to start, grow, sell, or merge their companies, and owners of commercial properties.

Steve’s broad and diverse background ranges from basic and straightforward entity formations to highly sophisticated and complex business and real estate transactions as well as sophisticated estate and succession planning. As a longtime family business owner and former real estate broker, he brings to his clients a unique understanding of a business and property owner’s practical needs.


Cancellations received less than seven calendar days from the program date are not refundable. If cancellation within seven days of the program is unavoidable, a credit for a future event will be granted, minus a $75 administration fee ($15 for regional meetings and Webinars). Credits must be used within one year of issue. A substitute attendee is allowed at the applicable NCHRA member/non-member rate in lieu of credit. Separate cancellation policies apply for the HR West Conference and Certification Preparation Courses.
