Produced by Next Concept HR Association HR, West 2019 will convene at the Oakland Convention Center, March 11 - 13.

 

For 35 years, the unparalleled 3-day HR West conference will continue to offer over 80 concurrent continuing education sessions to human resources management professionals, including three incredible keynotes and a cutting-edge emcee, as well hundreds of sponsors and event expo vendors. Next Concept HR Association welcomes HR West 2019 emcee, Cecil Plummer, President, Western Regional Minority Supplier Development Council. Plummer specializes in strategic sourcing, change management, performance and process improvement, supplier diversity, strategic planning, and risk management. He was formerly with Robert Half for 17 years and left his most recent position as the Director of CSS Strategic Solutions to join the Council. Plummer will kick off HR West 2019 on Monday, March 11th.

HR West keynotes, along with the 2019 emcee, are set to take the stage in the West Hall of the Oakland Convention Center. Keynote Aaron Hurst will follow emcee Cecil Plummer and his opening remarks at 9:20a.m. A globally recognized entrepreneur who works to create communities that are empowered to realize their potential, Hurst is the Founder of the Taproot Foundation and CEO of Imperative, a B Corp advocating for Purpose-Oriented Workers and supporting the organizations that embrace them. The author of “The Purpose Economy” (2014) he is a regular advisor and thought partner for many global brands.

An instigator on how to thrive in the future of work, HR West 2019 Day-2 keynote Sally Thornton is the CEO & Founder of Forshay, a firm that focuses on how people can do their best work through executive recruiting, project-based work, and improving the system of work through increased diversity, inclusion, and belonging. In 2015, Thornton launched WorkLab, a design thinking community of action committed to making work better, based on her work with Stanford's "Redesigning and Redefining Work" project. She has been featured in Wall Street Journal, BBC, Forbes, and YahooFinance including two TEDx talks. She will take the stage at 9a.m. on Tuesday March 12th.

Christopher Kurtz will close the conference with his Day-3 keynote on Wednesday, March 13th at 1:30 p.m. Kurtz is the CKO (Chief Kindness Officer) of Do Good. Be Kind®., a company that he co-founded with his wife, Brittany, in 2017. He is also the Founder and Principal at PeerThru, LLC, an independent consultancy committed to helping clients manage and capitalize on insights from their presence on Glassdoor.
